Clinique Chubby Sticks now more intense!

Following on from the success of their cult Chubby Sticks range (read my review here) Clinique is now releasing a new line and this time round their crayon style lipsticks will be INTENSE! The new moisturising lip colour balms will feature a new fuller coverage formula that will give you bolder colour pay off. 

Clinique Chubby Stick Intense will be available in 8 shades: Curviest Caramel, Chunkiest Chili, Heftiest Hibiscus, Mightiest Maraschino, Plushest Punch, Roomiest Rose, Broadest Berry, and Grandest Grape retailing at £16 each.

The chunky pens are perfect for applying on the go, because your simply twist up the base to dispense more product. Plus whilst now adding a more intense touch of colour to your lips the formula still contains the loveliest ingredients including shea butter, mango seed butter and jojoba seed oil to deliver plenty of moisture leaving your lips soft and soothed.

As mentioned there will be 8 shades in the range and lucky me was able to get my hands on two shades before they are released nationwide in mid-November.

Let me introduce you to Chunkiest Chilli and Plushest Punch:

 Chunkiest Chilli is a slightly brown brick red shade and Plushest Punch is a bright fushia pink shade.

I have swatched both Chubby Sticks below; first swatched normally and then swatched slightly blended out for if you prefer a softer look as a glossy balm but still with plenty of colour pay-off.

The bright punchy pink is definitely up my alley but when I first saw the brownish red Chubby stick I didn't think it would suit me at all. However I was pleasantly surprised and quite like this more brownish natural toned shade at the moment for a chic autumn look.

If you are a fan of the original Chubby Stick formula but prefer something with a bit more of a kick then I'd say definitely check out the new Intense range when it comes out in November! 

The Evelyn Lauder Dream Collection

It's that time of the year again, when Estée Lauder think PINK in honour of The Estée Lauder Companies’ Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign. And this year is no exception, as they celebrate the campaign’s 20th anniversary. This year’s theme for the campaign is Courage. “Believe in a world without breast cancer. Believe we’re here until it’s true.”

The 2012 collection is in memory of the late Evelyn Lauder, to honour Evelyn’s dream of putting an end to breast cancer and raising money and awareness for the Estée Lauder Companies Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign. Also this year’s new Pink Ribbon design features a touch of blue to represent the approximately 1% of all breast cancer cases that are diagnosed in men.

Here is a rundown of the products that are part of the collection this year. First up the Evelyn Lauder and Elizabeth Hurley Dream Lip Collection.

This lip-loving duo includes a full-size Pure Color Lipstick in Candy, a shade chosen by Evelyn Lauder and a Pure Color Gloss in Pink Innocence, chosen by Elizabeth Hurley, all featured in a chic pink snakeskin-printed clutch.

Candy is a pigmented and slightly shimmery pink lipstick. As all Estée Lauder lipsticks the formula is smooth, long lasting, creamy and has a nice lovely smell. The Pink Innocence gloss is a light, more frosted pink gloss that glides on easily. I love the design of the container!

Summer statement lips: MAC So Chaud

Recently while catching up on some of my favourite blogs I spotted the stunning Linda, from PS I love Fashion, blogging about this new red lipstick she'd gotten at MAC. I pretty much fell in lust as soon as I saw it on her! Unable to get this lippy out of my mind I wondered over to the MAC store and treated myself to this little beauty....

Introducing you to my favourite new red lipstick for summer: So Chaud!

So Chaud is an 'intense reddish-orange' (matte) from MAC's permanent line.

Red lips always provide a classy look but I love that the orange tones in this lipstick give it a slightly modern twist. It's a really unique colour and makes quite a statement when worn. It fits in perfectly with this season's trend of bright orange and coral colours which makes it the ideal red lipstick for warm and sunny days. Even though they label So Chaud as a matte lipstick, I find it very creamy and no where near as matte as say Ruby Woo, which is one of MAC's most best selling red lipsticks. The lasting power of this lipstick is impressive and it's not at all drying. 

I also think it makes my blue eyes POP!

Clinique Mighty Mimosa chubby stick lip balm

If you are a fan of Clinique's Chubby Sticks you will be happy to learn that from the 1st of June they are adding eight new shades to the range! Clinique Chubby Sticks are very popular, even winning an ELLE Beauty Award, because their multi-tasking, nourishing balms are packed with nutritious ingredients to keep lips soft, while also providing a sheer hint of colour. 

I'd never had the pleasure of owning one of these, so as you can imagine I was very excited to see if its reputation lived up to its hype when Clinique sent me of their new colours 'Mighty Mimosa' to try. 

The Chubby Sticks is basically a moisturizing lip colour balm that gives your lips a nice wash of sheer colour. It comes in a pencil style applicator that rolls up for ease of use.

Mightly Mimosa is a gentle natural pink which feels super soft on your lips because their award winning formula is packed with Shea Butter, Mango Seed Butter and Jojoba Seed Oil.

Conclusion?  I have been wearing this lip balm quite a lot recently and think the Chubby Sticks live up to their reputation; a lip balm in a pencil shape that keeps your lips from drying out whilst providing them with sheer long lasting colour! Perfect :)

The other new shades in the collection include; Heaping Hazelnut, Bountiful Blush, Two Ton Tomato, Oversized Orange, Curvy Candy, Pudgy Peony and Voluptuous Violet.

Burberry lipcover in Rosewood

I am currently loving my Burberry lipstick in the shade Rosewood; seriously how gorgeous is this lippy?

I discovered this lipstick because it was one of the items in my March 'The Harrods Edition' Glossybox. 

I have to say the March Glossybox was filled with some amazing products:

..but this mini Burberry lipstick was definitely my favourite! 

Isn't this the cutest and tiniest lipstick you have ever seen? 

The packaging of the mini version is exactly the same as their full sized lipsticks with its polished gunmetal case and Burberry check embossed lipstick bullet.

It's a rosy brown shade that I think would suit most skin-tones. It's a quite a natural look but it does give a nice touch of elegant colour to your lips. The formula is 'soft satin' which feels very light whilst being creamy and moisturizing.  The lasting power is really good and it has a pretty satin/glossy finish to it.

What do you think of the Burberry lipcover in Rosewood? A full sized version of this lipstick retails for £23 (link) which isn't cheap but this is a shade that is very timeless so probably worth the investment!

This compact is just so pretty but luckily it doesn't just look pretty in the compact, it also looks lovely on your cheeks :) The FYF Blossom glides on smoothly and offers a semi-matte finish which is long lasting. It gives you the option of using countless hues in one single blush. Use with a blush brush and apply on the apples of your cheeks for a natural blush.

Mineral Couture Pout Lipstick in 'Michelle' (link) $20/£13

This is one of my favourite work lipsticks at the moment. The shade is a gorgeous rosy pink nude. The formula is super creamy, rich and very long lasting. Formulated with shea butter and lip conditioners like avocado and jojoba oil, they hydrate your lips and keep them soft and supple.

Price wise I think all these products are pretty good value for money. FYF Cosmetics is a US company and their make-up is sold online from their website Flawless You Forever but they ship internationally!

Here is a lip swatch of Valentine. This is more a tomato bright red but yet another stunning shade!

The Collection 2000's lipsticks have SPF 15 and are pretty long lasting with a soft & smooth formula.

For only £2.99 I think these are UH-mazing value for money and am definitely keen to try more shades from the range. I have read that 'Bubblegum' from the range is pretty much a spot on dupe for MAC St Germain lipstick. Collection2000 Lasting Lipstick is available online or instore at Boots or Superdrug.

Supporting Breast Cancer Awareness Month! >

Wow I honestly can’t believe that it is October already; 2011 is just flying by! As much as I love summer, I am also a big fan of autumn; the changing of the seasons, the coloured leaves on the roads and those beautiful chilli but sunny autumn days.

These days October is also known world-wide as Breast Cancer Awareness Month. This is an annual international health campaign organized by major breast cancer charities every October to increase awareness of the disease and to raise funds for research into its cause, prevention, diagnosis, treatment and cure. The campaign also offers information and support to those affected by breast cancer.

A few days ago I was invited by the Estee Lauder Group in London to learn all about the 2011 Estée Lauder Companies’ 2011 Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign. Did you know that The Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign actually began in 1992 when Evelyn Lauder and Alexandra Penney created the Pink Ribbon together? It is now the universal symbol for breast health worldwide!

At the event the Estée Lauder Companies talked about celebrating its 19th year in the fight against breast cancer. The theme for their 2011 BCA Campaign theme is “TOGETHER. Connect. Communicate. Conquer. For a Future Free of Breast Cancer.”

There was an inspirational speech about the importance of breast cancer awareness which touched many of us because it seems almost everyone knows someone personally affected by breast cancer. They also showcased the Estee Lauder Group products people can buy in this year Pink Ribbon Collection to support the Breast Cancer Research Foundation. MAC Crosswires and Snob

Hey my lovelies,

While I was on holiday in Italy my friend was so kind to let me to have a nosey in her makeup bag. I love doing that kind of thing because I think it's a great way to discover new products. Like me, she very much loves her MAC makeup and was happy for me to play around with two of her favourite lippies. 

So let me share my findings:

Crosswires - described by MAC as 'a clean pinky orange' (Cremesheen)

Snob - described by MAC as 'a ladylike mauve' (Satin)

MAC Crosswires is such a stunning bright orange/pink coral shade. The cremesheen formula's is one of my favourites, so creamy and smooth, plus it's also very long lasting. Think this colour would suit many different skin tones and would look great on both blondes and brunettes. It's definitely not one for the shy-hearted though as it's very much a 'look at me' lippie! :) 

I really liked this lipstick so it has now been added to my (ever growing) lust list.

MAC Snob is a bit of a 'cult favourite' in the lipstick world. It's very popular with some but then also hated by others. Snob is super pigmented and a pink with lavender/purple undertones. I like the satin feel and look, but it can also be a little drying. I love the look of the lipstick swatched and in the tube, plus every time my friend wears it, I always think WOW that just looks FAB! However, the moment I applied this lipstick to my lips I just felt it didn't suit me at all! Too pale, too lilac and too cool toned...it just washed me out and made me look a bit like a porn star haha. Strange because it looks so amazing on my friend! Think it depends on the shade of your lips naturally to decide if the lipstick becomes more pink or purple on you. Therefore if you like the look of this lipstick in the shops I would definitely recommend getting it applied to your lips before making a rushed purchase! What do you think; are you a snob lover or hater?
