Getting Lash Perfect at new Lash Bar!

Last week I was invited to check out the brand new ‘Lash Bar’ in Soho, London. On my visit to the lash bar I was so lucky to get some semi-permanent lash flicks applied to my lashes in their stunning VIP treatment room! I’ve never had semi-permanent lashes before so it was a fun new experience. The therapist was lovely and explained everything very clearly and told me how to maintain and look after my new fluttery lashes once they had been applied.

I ♥ the effect of the flicks, giving my outer lashes some added ‘oomph’ whilst still remaining natural & pretty! Below is my lashes a few days later with mascara. At the salon they provided me with a black mascara by Lash Perfect that is oil-free and therefore specially formulated to be compatible with eyelash extensions.

I’m definitely loving the idea of lash extensions now. Can’t wait to experiment some more, maybe next time I will go for the full shebang ;)

Eyeko BIG Eyes

A while back I got the Eyeko Big Eyes Mascara from ASOS and have now used it for a while so thought I'd do a quick review to let you know my thoughts :)

What they say:

Here are my eyes with the Big Eyes Mascara:
PS: makeup wise I am wearing Urban Decay Baked e/s on the inner lid with Urban Decay Darkhorse on mid/outer lid, blended into crease and along lower lash line. Bourjous Effet Smoky Pencils in Ultra Black on the waterline and MAC liquid liner on the top lash line.

♥ Pro's
Cute packaging and comes in squeezable tube (which means no product is wasted)
The brush is thin and long, with widely spread spiral bristles. I really like the wand because it coats every lash and allows you to apply the mascara with precision. 
Very long lasting, without flaking or smudging throughout the day
Nice strong/deep black formula which is non drying
Mascara lengthens, volumises and really holds the curl to my lashes.  Great for a dramatic look!

♥ Con's
The mascara applies quite 'wet' and will start to thicken when it dries. This is fine but does mean that you need apply your second coat of mascara before the first coat has fully set and dried because otherwise it's nearly impossible to add another layer.
The other main downside for me is that the mascara is really hard to remove. I prefer mascara that removes easily (say with water in the shower) and I don't tend to wear a lot of waterproof mascara. This mascara isn't marketed as waterproof,  but there is no way you will get this product off without makeup remover (and even then you need to apply quite a bit of pressure to get it off!)
When removing, the mascara kind of disintegrated into little pieces instead of dissolving. However the plus side to this is that the mascara is super long lasting. Therefore I tend to wear this mascara if I am going out at night so I know my lashes will look lovely all night long! :)

Overall I think this is a great 'drugstore' mascara, especially if you are looking for long lasting dramatic 'Big Eyes' :)

No7 Best Wink

I received an exciting little goodie in my mail box last week. Drugstore Mascara >

Just want to share a quick post on 2x drugstore mascara's I have been loving recently:

♥ Max Factor; 2000 Calorie Dramatic Look

♥ L'Oreal Paris; Voluminous
I have both of these in black (non waterproof - because I'm not a big fan of waterproof mascara's, too harsh on my eyes, I like my mascara to be able to wash off with a bit of water...but that's just me :p)

These mascara's both promise to give you full DRAMATIC lashes! And they actually live up to their promise!! They give my lashes loads of volume, length and hardly any clumping or flaking. Love it!
So if you are on the look out for a great drugstore mascara, then I'd would definitely recommend either of these :)

FREE Chanel Mascara:)

It's GLAMOUR magazine 5th Birthday in The Netherlands and they celebrated this with a BIG Birthday issue. I couldn't resist picking it up because of the FREE Chanel Mascara it came with! C'mon we all love free goodies right? :)

And TADA hidden inside the little notebook is the FREE Mascara! 

Ok when I opened it I was a teeny bit disappointed with the size of the product, because it is incredibly small, but hey free is free right and you can't look a gift horse in the mouth ;)

Chanel inimitable intense

What is promises: "This technologically advanced formula builds on the success of the original mascara, delivering dramatic effects with a unique brush. Lashes appear longer, thicker and more curled, yet each lash, even the finest, is still precisely separated – without clumping, spiking or flaking." (as per Chanel website)

I had never tried a Chanel Mascara before so was very keen to see if this lived up to its expectations. I was truly impressed with the brush applicator. It really separates your lashes while making them thicker & longer. There was no flaking and the mascara lasted the whole day. Great product but pretty pricey at £29/€34! What do you ladies think of Chanel mascara, worth the money?
