NOTD - Topshop Utilitarian

Hello my lovelies,
Yay it is Friday!!! :) I have been counting down to the end of this week for a while. Why? Not just because it's been a busy week but also because my bestie from Holland is coming to London for the weekend. She arrives this afternoon, I just can't wait! This means that I probably won't get much time to blog this weekend, because I will be too busy having fun girly time together ♥ That's why I thought I'd quickly share my NOTD:

This is 'Utilitarian' by Topshop. A little bit of a funny name I thought - so I looked up the definition:
utili·tar·ian (adjective)
1.of or having to do with utility

2.stressing usefulness over beauty or other considerations (designed for use rather than beauty)
3.made for or aiming at utility
4.of, or having belief in, utilitarianism

Haha I like point #3 - designed for use rather than beauty. LOL well I think this nail polish is a combo of both ;) Anyways, the polish is a dirty army khaki/green colour but when on your nails in some light it can almost become a very dark army brown. I've had it on my nails all week and have to admit I quite like it! Great polish for autumn or winter. Quality of the polish = not bad! It only started chipping around day 3 so was pleased with that. This picture was taken after applying 2 coats. It's fast drying & has a good little brush to apply the polish with. You can get it online here for £5.

Knight Divine Smokey Eye

Hi my lovelies,

Firstly, sorry that I have been a little absent recently! With my move to London last week I have been pretty busy trying to find a place to live and a job. You've got to set priorities in life sometimes; to blog or to have a home and income.....? ;) Anyways, I am happy to announce that mission #1 (a roof above my head) has been accomplished!! I have found a lovely flat in Clapham and I move in tomorrow. I can't wait to decorate my room and create a little cosy 'haven' for myself in London. 

On Tuesday I attended my first blogger event in London (post to follow!) & I thought I'd quickly share my Face of the Night. I used Knight Divine eyeshadow by MAC to create a grey/navy smokey eye:

Topshop Lazy Days FOTD

When browsing the cosmetics section at Topshop a few weeks ago I picked up one of their eye pencils. I got the crayon in 'Lazy Days'. I was drawn to it because it reminded me of NARS Night Star eyeshadow, which has been on my lust list for yonks!

Topshop describes it as: Chunky eyeshadow pencil with glitter for shading, lining and defining eyes.

I created a FOTD recently using the Lazy Days Crayon:

What I think of this product? It's a nice and creamy pencil that applies smoothly and is easy to blend. I really love the soft pink/nude colour with its slight gold glitters (which unfortunately don't seem to photograph that well, grrr). The only downfall is that when using this crayon as an eyeshadow it's perhaps a little too creamy and doesn't really 'set' into a powder finish. I used a primer but still found it smudged, creased and faded after only a few hours. Therefore I think this pencil is great for a day look but not ideal for if you are going out at night because think due to heat of bars etc this would smudge and fade too much.

"Flushed" Cheeks

One of my favourite shops in London is Topshop. The one on Oxford Street is just SO massive, you could get lost in there....(actually I think I did almost get lost! haha) Beside clothes they have an amazing range of shoes, accessories, jewellery and since not that long also MakeUp! I had read a few reviews on their products, so I was excited to try out some Topshop MakeUp myself. 
I ended up buying a cream blusher, called "Flush"

What Topshop says: "Lightweight cream to powder blush that melts into the skin giving a natural luminous, radiant finish" 

Flush is a pretty rose pink with a slight coral undertone. It looks very bright in the pan but I feel its a lovely soft shade of pink when blended onto the cheek, giving you that "flushed" cheeks look. The blush has great pigmentation, lasts really long and it it applies from a cream to a soft powdery finish. All I do really is dot it onto my cheeks and blend! Plus it can also be worn as a lipstick/stain.  I say for £6 it's a bargain!
