Oh how I am loving this amazing European Summer weather at the moment! It's a fab improvement from the cold & drab weather in Wellington, NZ! In the Netherlands it's been sunny and between 28-34 degrees the last few days. Which means time to bring out summer dresses or shorts. Love it! Here's my casual OOTD:

Ladies Night

Hi Ladies
On Monday night me and my friend went out in Abu Dhabi for "Ladies Night". It's crazy, many bars there will have a ladies night a certain evening and what does this mean...?? Free drinks for girls!! Champagne, wine or sometimes even cocktails. Look-alike?

For years and years now people are always telling me...."Oh wow, do you know who you look like? That girl from American Beauty/American Pie!! What's her name again"....So OK apparently I look like Mena Suvari. Well as a laugh I thought  I would copy a look of an imagine I found of her online and ask you girls...

Brown Smokey Eye Tutorial

Hi lovelies,

I have recorded another tutorial using two of my favourite MAC eyeshadows; Satin Taupe & All that glitters. The result is a lovely brown smokey eye. I'm not 100% happy with the video myself because I had to cut bits and speed a few things up to get it under the 10 minute YouTube allowance. YAY it is Friday! Today I am wearing one of my Sydney purchases that I just adore; the Rodeo Show silk dress.
Love the mix of colours (pink, purple, grey, black, blues and greens). So  many make up options can go with this outfit, but I decided on a pink/purple look today using Jest & Shale from MAC.

2x Sydney FOTN $

I had some fabulous nights in Sydney. I thought I would share 2x FOTN (face of the nights) with you from my weekend! 

On Saturday night my friend Emma hosted an Easter Cocktail Tea Party at her house. Us girls made some yummy concoctions with spirits, champagne & mixers and served them in a mix of cute teapots. After a few drinks we had a mad run around the house hunting for easter eggs & afterwards hit the clubs and dance floors in Kings Cross. It was a really fun night! Thanks again Em for being such a fantastic hostess :)

On Easter Sunday we had tickets to an amazing event @ the Ivy; The White Party. This year's theme was Amazonia!

We got glammed up in white outfits with jungle & amazonian accessories (and some of us body paint :p haha)

Am kind of gutted the photo doesn't really show off the glitter :( Reflects Antique Gold pigment is so gorgeous, I love wearing it on top of a dark smokey eye for that extra "oomph"!

Knight Divine FOTD

This is one of my regular and favourite eye makeup looks. A soft grey smoking eye using Knight Divine.

MAC Knight Divine is a veluxe pearl eye shadow that is described by MAC as a Black w/silver pearl. I personally feel it more of a blue-ish/grey black. This shade blends beautifully and is perfect for a soft or dramatic smokey eye.

PS: I think this look is similar but maybe a little softer/lighter version of the Kim Kardashian Smokey Eye Tutorial she has on her website. It's a great tutorial to watch!  

NYX Angel

NYX Powder Blush in Angel - I have read many reviews on this product and now that I finally have it myself, I definitely think it lives up to its reputation.  Angel is a pretty soft pink colour that seems to work with any eye & lip look it is paired with. There's a slight shimmer to the colour in the pan, but once applied you can hardly detect any shimmer at all whilst still giving a lovely glow to the skin.

Below is the blush swatched on my hand. It was quite tricky to get the true colour to reflect in the photo but I as you can see it's a very natural pink blush that is soft and perfect for every day use.

With it's dirt cheap price, lovely colour & great pigmentation; what is there not to love? Feel this blush will become one of my new faves! 

PS: I have read that NYX Angel is a close "dupe" to MAC Well Dressed blush (which has been on my wishlist for a while) Does anyone have both Well Dressed & Angel and can tell me if they are indeed similar??

Quick & Easy FOTD

Happy Friday everyone!
Today I did a quick & easy FOTD using 2 of my new NYX products from a recent haul.

1 ) NYX Ultra Pearl Mania in Nude. Think this a wonderful little powder. The colour is called Nude but I would describe it more as a very shimmery light gold. Very pigmented and lots of shine! It is great as a overall lid colour or can be used as highlighter or for inner corner of the eye. I would definitely recommend using a base on the eyes (like paint pot or UDPP) to get longer lasting power. The powder is beautiful when you foil it too. One negative about this product is its packaging. Think I might need to transfer the powder into another pot because it is so hard to work with from the packaging it comes with!

2) NYX slim eye pencil in Cafe. Very creamy liner in a sparkly brown colour. Because of its very cheap price this liner is quite good value for money but think the staying power could be better. It doesn't fade too quickly, but it also doesn't stay bold and vibrant after a handful of hours. Probably would last longer when set with eye shadow.

Victoria Secret Inspired FOTD >

Just like many girls out there, I secretly dream of becoming a Victoria Secret Angel! Haha well a girl is allowed to dream right? ;)

Some of my all time favourite VS Angels are Heidi Klum, Gisele Bundchen, Adriana Lima, Miranda Kerr, Tyra Banks & Karen Mulder and Doutzen Kroes (both fellow Dutchy's!)  They are all so gorgeous!

I love watching the VS Fashion shows. The other day a repeat of their 2009 Fashion show was on TV and was just admiring all the stunning models with their big wavy hair & their dewy and sparkly-looking pink makeup! Check out  these images of Miranda & Doutzen at the 2009 Fashion show for a better idea of their make up.

Mac See Sheer is described by MAC as a grapefruit pink (lustre) but on me it I feel it is more of a gorgeous coral toned  lipstick.  It was a very random buy I made years ago and was always at the bottom of my make up case but I rediscovered it late last year and think it's great!
Am about to head out for some drinks with a girlfriend to celebrate that Friday is over! It's the weekend - woohooo!!

February Favourites +

Wow I can't believe it's the 1st of March today! Time has really flown by so far for me in 2010!  Here are my favourite products for February:

MAC Blankety Lipstick

I think this is my PERFECT Nude lipstick! Before I owned Blankety my go to nude was MAC Creme D'Nude but was never 100% happy with it. Think with my skin colour it was a little too nude and it washed out my face. Even though Blankety is a nude lipstick, it has hints of pink to balance out the plainness of a nude lip  This lipstick is perfect on its own for a professional or natural look.  Or if you’d like something more glamorous, you can use it as a base and add some shimmery lip gloss over it. This lipstick also goes great with dramatic eye makeup as it is ideal not to use rich colours for lips if you’re already putting great emphasis on your eye makeup.

UDPP (Urban Decay Primer Potion)

This primer has a huge following with many beauty bloggers. Urban Decay promises that it will make your eyeshadow last longer, make it more vibrant and no creasing. Well I am happy to say I think it fully lives up to the hype! I think its a really good primer and prefer it over my MAC Prep & Prime Eye that I have been using for years. It dries down almost instantly (and invisibly), creating super smooth lids that will be a perfect base for any eye shadow. 


NYX Mega Shine Lipgloss - Smokey Look

I love everything about this lip-gloss!
Colour: a stunning natural, peachy nude with shimmer. It's the perfect gloss to accompany a dark smokey eye but also very nice with more natural make up.
Look: Cute packaging - it has an adorable little bow on the top of the lid

What I love the most though is the  Taste & Smell:  It has this yummy cherry taste/smell. Some people might hate that about this gloss but I love anything cherry so this is like putting candy on your lips! Yumm :)


MAC Satin Taupe Eye Shadow I have owned this colour for ages but somehow it always got lost below all my other shadows in my make up case so I had kind of forgotten about it.  Now that I have depotted most of my MAC Eye shadows into Pro Palette's, I have re-discovered Satin Taupe. I have been using it a lot this month to darken up my crease or just on the lid on its own. Such a gorgeous colour.


MAC Trax Eye Shadow

A new shade added to my collection this month and really love this colour. Gorgeous burgundy plum/gold colour.
Fantastic match with bronze, golds or browns or also for darker smokey look pair it with carbon.


NYX Jumbo Pencil - Milk

This is a great white eye liner pencil. I use it to line my waterline or to apply a little bit to the inner corner of my eye to brighten it up! I have tried several white eyeliner pencils but have never found anything as good as this one. It has such amazing colour pay off and it says in the waterline almost all day. 

ModelCo - Airbrush Tan in a Can It is summer in NZ and I am definitely a fake tan kind of girl! This month I have mainly been using this Instant Bronzer and Self Tanning Spray for Face and Body. It has a really good spray nozzle (airbrush effect) which makes the tan go on as a really fine mist. It dries fast and doesn't cause major streaking. What I love about this product is that it gives you an instant all-over healthy glow (due to the bronzer in the product) whilst the long lasting self tanner develops underneath in hours.  With other self tanners I normally apply them at night, let it dry, sleep and wake up the next morning tanned. However with this one because it has the bronzer it in I even use it to touch up areas in the mornings or before going out at night.

L'Oreal Elnett Hairspray - Diamond Hold
I had always heard so much about this hairspray so recently I finally decided to pick it up when it was for sale at my local department store. I initially tried it out on my curled hair to see how well it would hold...I was disappointed :( OK Yes I live in a very windy city but this hairspray did not hold my curls at all. By the time I had walked to work in the morning my curls were pretty much non-existent! So why is it in my February favourites then you ask? Well...after the disappointment of its holding power  I started using this hairspray on straight or volume styled hair and was surprised...I liked it. I now use this almost daily to just "set" my hair or fringe.  It fixes my hair without making it hard and crunchy.  Be aware, this hairspray does have a very distinctive chemical like smell. It reminds me so much of my late grandmother, I wonder if she used this hairspray?! Isn't it funny how certain smells can bring back certain memories :)

This is the first time I used my NYX Jumbo Pencil in French Fries. I think it is a lovely shimmery brown creamy shade that glides on really well and is easy to blend. It worked well together with the Walnut Pigment from NYX. However, I did find that by the end of the day my look started to smudge quite a bit in the crease area....more than I am used to with my MAC paintpots or when using UDPP. Have you used the jumbo pencils before as a base and if so what did you think?

Off white shift dress from CUE. Love these shoes...they are a tiny bit uncomfortable but hey....the pain is worth it ;) They are HOT!

Oh and I went to see the movie "Valentines Day" tonight. I loved it! Think I will buy it on DVD when it comes out. One of those perfect love feel good movies...just like "Love Actually"! It made me smile and want to fall in love.....Could see it again tomorrow :)
