Urban Decay - Naked Palette 2!!

Most of you will know that I am a HUGE fan of the Urban Decay Naked Palette. You can my read my review of this best-selling palette here. I love how you can create so many different looks ranging from a natural day look to a dramatic evening smokey eye plus the shadows are such amazing quality. Here are some of my favourite looks I created with the palette; Gold/Bronze look, Gunmetal Silver look and an Evening Smokey eye.

In the last few weeks the anticipation has been building on the release of the brand new Naked Palette 2! It won’t be available in the UK until February 4^th but I have just found out that you can buy it exclusively from Debenhams in store or online right now, a month before it hits the stores nationwide.

Bronze summery night look with a pop of aqua! #

Hey my lovelies,

This is another look of the night from my holiday in the Amalfi Coast back in August (pictures here).

We had been at the beach all day and I felt like a bronzed, summery and fun look! I wore this zebra/tiger like kaftan which has a lovely bright blue stone on it so I decided to incorporate the blue into my makeup too :)

The kaftan I bought about 3 years ago while on holiday in greece. It's more of a beach cover-up really and therefore very see-through, but when you match it with a nude slip underneath it's suitable for a summery evening out.  The hair...quite messy after a day at the beach so decided to braid the front to deal with the 'out of control' side fringe. A night to remember..

On my holiday in Italy I had many great evenings, but one night me and my friend went out for a super 'romantic' dinner at Cafe Positano. This is an lovely restaurant, located higher in the town of Positano. Sitting on the outdoor terrace you can admire the splendid panorama of Positano.  

This is what I wore for our evening out :)

These photo's were taken on the balcony of our hotel room in Positano, amazing view right!?

I got this dress in London from the shop Oliver Bonas; but the dress is actually from the brand Vera Moda. I was just browsing with a friend and spotted it in the sales rack, pulled it out, had to try it on and was blown away by it. Lucky me it was the perfect size and only £19! I love how it is long, chiffon, flowy. It has little ruffles at the front neckline and a low V shaped back.  

Makeup wise I used my trusted Urban Decay Naked Palette:

I applied the shade 'Toasted' all over the lid, then on the outer third and lower lash line I applied 'Gunmetal' and I used a mix of 'Buck' and 'Naked' to blend out and soften the crease. Some black eyeliner in the water line and a bit of mascara on the lower lashes (still loving my lash extensions!) On my cheeks I am wearing NARS Orgasm and on my lips a Lancome Juicy Tube in Marshmallow Electro.  The earrings were a birthday gift by a friend of mine - she got them for me in St Tropez! 

This is me at the restaurant; we had such a FAB and yes 'romantic' evening...

The whole restaurant was filled with couples and then me & my girlfriend. 

But you know what, I had the best night with her and wouldn't change it for the world :)

Polo in the Park +

About two weeks ago, me and a group of girlfriends went to Hurlingham Park in London to attend the annual ‘Polo in the Park’ event! We just got general admission tickets (about £25 each) which gave us access to the grounds, viewing the polo matches all afternoon, the Harrods Food Court, the Veuve Clicquot Champagne Garden and the Mahiki Bar! All summed up it’s just a fun day out with the girls, dressed up in colourful pretty summery dresses, sipping champagne whilst also (maybe) watching a bit of the polo….perfect! :)
We were blessed with a warm sunny day so I that made it a great day for it!

I decided to wear a bright turquoise dress that I bought in Paris at a little shop called ‘Territoire’ (8–10, rue Montmartre, in the 1st). I stumbled across this little shop and loved all the dresses in there but ended up picking up this short aqua number. Loved the little details and the colour just made me go ‘I want, I want’. I got lots of comments on the dress so am very happy I got it!

We'll always have Paris =

I'm still dreaming of my amazing time in Paris last weekend! So I thought I'd share my outfit and makeup of one night out partying in Paris. Me and my friend got ready at her place (me doing our makeup of course) and then we headed out to cafe Germain in the 6th arrondissement of the city.  There we had champagne, some dinner and my all time favourite dessert in the whole world! 

Which is.....moelleux au chocolat. It's also known as chocolate fondant or chocolate lava cake. Basically me + warm runny chocolate cake served with a dollop of cold icecream = a very very very happy Roz!

Because it had been such a lovely sunny day I decided to wear a short bright dress with gold makeup:

♥ Face of the night:

I used the Urban Decay NAKED palette to create my look that evening. I applied half baked all over the lid and then used smog in the crease and along my lower lash line. Followed by black winged liquid eye liner and a few coats of NARS Larger Than Life Volumizing Mascara (which I am loving at the moment!) I finished off my golden look with Estee Lauder Lipgloss in Impulsive Coral (#20)

Amber Lights FOTD

Recently I the lovely Laura of Lollipop Loves held a blog sale and I managed to score two great purchases! Actually think there might still be a few items left so feel free to have a peek here!

Amber Lights is a golden peachy-brown eyeshadow with golden shimmer (frost). I have been eyeing up this shade for a while so when I spotted it in the blog sale, I took this as a sign that I was meant to add it to my collection ;) Such a beautiful colour and think this shade is a must have for people with a warm skin-tone or blue eyes! 

Just like the 24/7 Glide-on Eye pencils, the Urban Decay 24/7 Lip Pencil is very long lasting! Naked is a neutral pink shade and suitable for many skin tones. "Urban Decay 24/7 Lip Pencil in Naked is formulated with jojoba oil, vitamin E, and cottonseed oil to nourish the skin and improve the smoothness of application." It looks a lot darker swatched then when applied on my lips. I love this colour when gently applied to lip with a clear gloss on top. It would also be great under any neurtral or pink toned lipsticks. The formula is very creamy and glides on very smooth. It also doesn't make your lips dry which is great!

I hope you have all had a good week? I'm very excited today because I am off home (to The Netherlands) for a few days over the weekend. The last time I went was around Christmas time, which is ages ago now, so can't wait to catch up with friends, family and see The Netherlands in Spring time! Love it around that time of the year, with all the tulips and flowers in bloom!

Gold & Silver Inspired FOTD

Last week during my daily communte to work, while on the tube, I was reading the fabulous free 'Stylist Magazine' and was mesmerised by the beautiful makeup on the model in the Modern Art photo shoot! I loved the bold combination of gold & silver together so I felt inspired to try this look for myself. I made it a little less dramatic, making it more wearable for during the day (& suitable for work) but this could easily be dramatised by applying the eyeshadows more heavily & adding a bold lipstick to make it a stunning glamorous evening look!

Retrospeck EOTD =

One of my favourite MAC eyeshadows is "Retrospeck".  It has a lustre formula & is described by MAC as a beached blonde colour. Its a lovely pale shimmery gold that is sriking but not too overpowering. I love wearing this eyeshadow all over the lid with different crease colour combinations.

Going Green..

I hope you are all having a fabulous week? I am in a great mood because I finally heard back regarding a job interview in London! They confirmed a time which means I will be going back to London in early October for an interview, its all looking very promising, yippee yah yay!

So today I went green.....(MakeUp wise then haha).

My 1st Urban Decay e/s Box!

In London I finally purchased my first Urban Decay Shadow Box! Whoop whoop! I have been wanting one for years but they never sold Urban Decay in New Zealand so I have been waiting & waiting...I know, I know, I could have just bought it online, but I never did OK? :p Anyways the one I choose was the "Eyeshadow Ammo Shadow Box" which was created for their 10th Birthday & therefore it contains 10x of Urban Decay's best-selling shades.

Smog: deep coppery bronze, Mildew: deep green,

Oil Slick: black with silver glitter, Last Call: plum punch 

Chopper: coppery fawn w/ silver microglitter 

Maui Wowie:medium gold w/ silver glitter,

Shattered: bright green/blue shift,  

Polyester Bride:white w/ silver glitter

Grifter: sheer lavender w/ lots of silver micro-glitter, Sin: champagne

Urban Decay eyeshadows are highly pigmented, creamy and super soft to blend. This would be a great little box to take away on holiday because you'd have a mix of neutral, bright colours and dark smokey/bronzey shades plus they are all together in a small compact box, including a mirror...Perfecto! Ok so I couldn't help myself to share a simple FOTD using my new UD Shadow Box. Here it is:

Scarf: Leopard print round scarf. Found it in a little shop at the Brussels train station while in transfer to London. I'd seen one just like this that I loved at Mango but it was €50! This one was only €10 so I went for the non-splurge option :) Round scarves are great because they are so versatile in the way you can wear them.

February Favourites +

Wow I can't believe it's the 1st of March today! Time has really flown by so far for me in 2010!  Here are my favourite products for February:

MAC Blankety Lipstick

I think this is my PERFECT Nude lipstick! Before I owned Blankety my go to nude was MAC Creme D'Nude but was never 100% happy with it. Think with my skin colour it was a little too nude and it washed out my face. Even though Blankety is a nude lipstick, it has hints of pink to balance out the plainness of a nude lip  This lipstick is perfect on its own for a professional or natural look.  Or if you’d like something more glamorous, you can use it as a base and add some shimmery lip gloss over it. This lipstick also goes great with dramatic eye makeup as it is ideal not to use rich colours for lips if you’re already putting great emphasis on your eye makeup.

UDPP (Urban Decay Primer Potion)

This primer has a huge following with many beauty bloggers. Urban Decay promises that it will make your eyeshadow last longer, make it more vibrant and no creasing. Well I am happy to say I think it fully lives up to the hype! I think its a really good primer and prefer it over my MAC Prep & Prime Eye that I have been using for years. It dries down almost instantly (and invisibly), creating super smooth lids that will be a perfect base for any eye shadow. 


NYX Mega Shine Lipgloss - Smokey Look

I love everything about this lip-gloss!
Colour: a stunning natural, peachy nude with shimmer. It's the perfect gloss to accompany a dark smokey eye but also very nice with more natural make up.
Look: Cute packaging - it has an adorable little bow on the top of the lid

What I love the most though is the  Taste & Smell:  It has this yummy cherry taste/smell. Some people might hate that about this gloss but I love anything cherry so this is like putting candy on your lips! Yumm :)


MAC Satin Taupe Eye Shadow I have owned this colour for ages but somehow it always got lost below all my other shadows in my make up case so I had kind of forgotten about it.  Now that I have depotted most of my MAC Eye shadows into Pro Palette's, I have re-discovered Satin Taupe. I have been using it a lot this month to darken up my crease or just on the lid on its own. Such a gorgeous colour.


MAC Trax Eye Shadow

A new shade added to my collection this month and really love this colour. Gorgeous burgundy plum/gold colour.
Fantastic match with bronze, golds or browns or also for darker smokey look pair it with carbon.


NYX Jumbo Pencil - Milk

This is a great white eye liner pencil. I use it to line my waterline or to apply a little bit to the inner corner of my eye to brighten it up! I have tried several white eyeliner pencils but have never found anything as good as this one. It has such amazing colour pay off and it says in the waterline almost all day. 

ModelCo - Airbrush Tan in a Can It is summer in NZ and I am definitely a fake tan kind of girl! This month I have mainly been using this Instant Bronzer and Self Tanning Spray for Face and Body. It has a really good spray nozzle (airbrush effect) which makes the tan go on as a really fine mist. It dries fast and doesn't cause major streaking. What I love about this product is that it gives you an instant all-over healthy glow (due to the bronzer in the product) whilst the long lasting self tanner develops underneath in hours.  With other self tanners I normally apply them at night, let it dry, sleep and wake up the next morning tanned. However with this one because it has the bronzer it in I even use it to touch up areas in the mornings or before going out at night.

L'Oreal Elnett Hairspray - Diamond Hold
I had always heard so much about this hairspray so recently I finally decided to pick it up when it was for sale at my local department store. I initially tried it out on my curled hair to see how well it would hold...I was disappointed :( OK Yes I live in a very windy city but this hairspray did not hold my curls at all. By the time I had walked to work in the morning my curls were pretty much non-existent! So why is it in my February favourites then you ask? Well...after the disappointment of its holding power  I started using this hairspray on straight or volume styled hair and was surprised...I liked it. I now use this almost daily to just "set" my hair or fringe.  It fixes my hair without making it hard and crunchy.  Be aware, this hairspray does have a very distinctive chemical like smell. It reminds me so much of my late grandmother, I wonder if she used this hairspray?! Isn't it funny how certain smells can bring back certain memories :)
